Tyler Reed Shields is a professional drummer, percussionist and music producer currently based in Chicago, IL.

Under the tutelage of Paul Berns and Joel William Spencer, Tyler earned a BM from University of Indianapolis and a MM from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In 2018, Tyler accepted a contract with Azamara Club Cruises traveling around the world performing in 42 countries in Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Upon moving to Chicago in 2019, Tyler made his way into the Chicago Musical Theater scene, then in 2020 he joined the National Tour of "Chicago" the Broadway Musical.

Tyler has performed on stage with Kirk Franklin, Josh Kauffman, Benny Benack III, Anita Gillette, Natalie Toro, Jim Pugh, Larry Gray, Durand Jones, and Melvin Knight.

Tyler currently plays drums and percussion for "Chicago" the Broadway Musical on Tour, records and produces music from his home studio, and teaches private lessons via Skype.
